• Love the location of the Royal, you feel like you're going out somewhere into the hills. Also feels special once there as the layout (especially conservatory in summer) is spacious and relaxed. Nice wine list, flexible menu (they will cook stuff not laid down in black & white on the menu). Finally and this is a big finally, spacious surroundings - have a wander round the hills before & after and no pobs with plenty of free parking. Compare this with your average experience of parking and stressing out in Croydon with dogfights with scooter mounted parking wardens - Royal Garden is just a world apart for me.
