INTERESTS & HOBBIES CLUBS IN CROYDON

  • British Cactus Society - Croydon
    The branch was founded in 1952 to provide a focal point for growers of cacti and the other succulent plants in the Croydon area to meet regularly and share their common interest to learn more about the hobby.

  • Croydon Airport Model Flying Club
    We are a small friendly club of approximately 90 members who's skill level varies from beginners in the hobby to the more advanced flyer. We fly at two flying sites, one at the old Croydon Airport (public flying site) and the main one at Ficklshole, New Addington (private flying site).
  • Croydon Astronomical Society
    The Croydon Astronomical Society is a charity whose objectives are to help & educate members & the public to acquire a knowledge of Astronomy and allied subjects. The CAS does not charge a subscription but instead rely on the generosity of our members & visitors in donating what they can afford.

  • Croydon Camera club
    Croydon Camera Club, founded in 1890, is one of England's oldest photographic societies. Today we are a Club of enthusiastic photographers with a wide range of styles and interests. We meet every Wednesday evening (except during August) in the Croydon area

  • Croydon & District Chess League
    A small and friendly league for chess teams in South London. Matches are held at the venues of our member clubs in Battersea, Coulsdon, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, South Norwood, Streatham and West Wickham.
  • Croydon Coin Auctions
    Croydon Coin Auctions held their first sale on 4th March 1983 at Croydon Parish Church Hall. Since this first auction of 610 lots there have been regular auctions including the 'South of England Collection'. The average auction is now 900 lots.

  • Croydon Communicators
    Croydon Communicators is a local club in Croydon where you can develop public speaking confidence in a supportive learning environment.
  • Croydon Model Railway Society
    The Society's regular meeting is every Wednesday, between 8 PM and 10.30 PM, with members attending to work on layouts, swap ideas and or simply discuss railway matters over a cup of coffee.
  • Croydon Natural History and Scientific Society
    Founded in 1870 as the Croydon Microscopical Club, the CNHSS has much in the way of printed matter and museum specimens that is relevant to the district and the archives may help your studies.

  • Croydon Philatelic Society
    Meetings are held at the Small Hall, United Reformed Church,
    Addiscombe Grove, Croydon, Surrey (near East Croydon railway station) on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

  • Epsom Cine & Video Society
    The EPSOM CINE & VIDEO SOCIETY owes its roots to cinematography but realising its future lies in the development of videography as a popular hobby, decided to take on board the new medium and attract new members.

  • Locomotive Club of Great Britain
    The Locomotive Club of Great Britain's main objectives are to foster a keen interest in UK and Overseas railways, and to support the railway preservation movement. The Club is affiliated to the Heritage Railway Association Founded in 1949, Club membership stands at around 1 000 and includes enthusiasts living in many parts of the globe.

    The Society was formed in 1972 and manages about 146 plots at the South Croydon site. The standard sized plot is 10 rods (approximately 250 sq. metres) but half sized plots and plots of other areas are also available.

    Meetings are held every Thursday at 7.45 P.M.There are formal meetings on alternate weeks where you can :-
    see films made by members, visiting clubs and visiting speakers
    hear visiting clubs and speakers talk about films and film making techniques show your films and hear comments by a panel of experienced film makers take part in the annual competition and other ‘challenges’ and ‘theme’ evenings
